Unstoppable Through Him-Bold in Belief 2

"But He said, 'The things which are impossible with men are possible with God.'"

Luke 18:27

Nothing Is Too Difficult for God

“But He said, ‘The things which are impossible with men are possible with God.'”

Jesus spoke these words after a rich young ruler walked away sad because he couldn’t give up his wealth to follow Jesus. The disciples were stunned—if a rich person can’t be saved, who can be? That’s when Jesus reminded them: what’s impossible for humans is possible with God.

What This Teaches Us

This verse reveals the unlimited power of God to accomplish what we cannot: Human effort has limits. Human wisdom has boundaries. Human strength runs out. But God has no such limitations. What seems impossible to you is completely possible with Him.

The context matters. Jesus was talking about salvation—the impossible task of humans saving themselves through their own effort or wealth. But the principle extends to every impossible situation you face. The diagnosis that seems terminal. The relationship that seems beyond repair. The financial crisis with no solution. The habit you can’t break. The dream that seems unreachable.

With men, these things are impossible. You’ve tried everything. You’ve exhausted your options. You’ve run out of ideas. That’s exactly where God’s power becomes most evident—when your ability ends, His begins.

Notice Jesus didn’t say “some things” are possible with God. He said “the things which are impossible with men are possible with God.” ALL the impossible things. Every single one. Nothing is excluded from God’s ability.

How to Apply This in Daily Life

Identify what seems impossible in your life right now. What situation has you thinking “there’s no way this can work out”? That’s your opportunity to see God do the impossible. Don’t let human limitations define what God can do.

Stop trying to make the impossible possible through your own effort. Jesus’s point was that humans CAN’T save themselves—they need God. You can’t solve every problem, fix every situation, or overcome every obstacle in your own strength. Acknowledge your limitations and turn to the One who has none.

Bring your impossible situations to God specifically and directly. Don’t just worry about them or complain about them. Lay them before God and say, “This is impossible for me, but it’s possible for You. I’m asking You to do what I cannot do.”

Trust God’s timing and methods. Just because something is possible with God doesn’t mean it happens instantly or the way you expect. God’s possibilities often unfold in surprising ways and on His timeline. Keep trusting even when you don’t see immediate results.

Let impossible situations deepen your faith rather than destroy it. When you face something impossible and God comes through, your faith grows. When you face something impossible and must wait on God, your patience and trust develop. Either way, impossibilities are opportunities for spiritual growth.

Reflection Questions

  • What situation in your life currently seems impossible? Have you brought it to God, or are you still trying to solve it yourself?
  • Do you truly believe that ALL impossible things are possible with God, or do you think some situations are too difficult even for Him?
  • How have you seen God do the impossible in your past that can give you faith for your current impossibility?
  • Are you willing to wait for God’s timing and accept His methods, even if they’re different from what you expect?

Prayer For Guidance and Strength

Lord Jesus, thank You for reminding me that the things which are impossible with men are possible with You. Right now I’m facing situations that seem completely impossible: [name your specific impossibilities]. I’ve tried everything in my human effort, wisdom, and strength—and I’ve reached the end of what I can do.

But that’s exactly where Your power begins. What’s impossible for me is completely possible for You. I stop trying to make the impossible possible in my own strength. I acknowledge my limitations and turn to You who has none.

I bring these impossible situations to You specifically and directly. [Name them again to God.] I’m not just worrying or complaining—I’m asking You to do what I cannot do. These things are impossible for me, but they’re possible for You.

Help me to trust Your timing and methods. Just because something is possible with You doesn’t mean it happens instantly or the way I expect. Keep me trusting even when I don’t see immediate results. Let these impossibilities deepen my faith and draw me closer to You.

Nothing is too difficult for You. I believe that ALL impossible things are possible with God. Work in my situation according to Your power and purpose. In Your mighty name, Amen.
