Conquer with Courage 2

Conquer with Courage 2

"With your help I can advance against a troop; with my God I can scale a wall."

Psalm 18:29

Scaling Impossible Walls

There are obstacles in life that seem absolutely insurmountable. Walls so high you can’t see over them. Challenges so overwhelming that logic says you should just turn around. But this verse reveals a powerful truth: what’s impossible for you alone becomes possible with God. The key phrase is “with your help” and “with my God.” It’s not that you become superhuman—it’s that you stop fighting alone.

There’s a young founder named Daniel who grew up in one of Chicago’s most under-resourced neighborhoods and launched his first company with no network, no capital connections, and a background that every conventional startup pathway was implicitly not designed for. His first accelerator application was rejected. His second. His third. A mentor at a small business development center told him bluntly to “be realistic” about the kind of company he could build given his constraints. But Daniel had something his rejection letters couldn’t measure: a faith that God could help him scale walls that the system said were too high for someone starting where he was. He woke at 5am every day to work on his pitch before his day job. He found one advisor at a community organization who believed in the idea. He applied to thirty programs even though everyone said he wouldn’t get in. When rejections accumulated, he didn’t stop — he studied each one and improved. Finally, one acceptance came: a competitive national accelerator three states away with full funding. Two years later, Daniel had built a company with paying customers in four cities. When asked how he did it, he says, “I couldn’t have gotten here alone. But with God, I could climb higher than anyone expected — including me.”

That’s the promise of this verse. Your wall might be a financial crisis, a broken relationship, a career that feels stuck, a health battle, or a dream that seems unreachable. Alone, it’s too much. But with God’s help, you can advance against opposition that would normally defeat you. You can scale barriers that logic says you can’t overcome.

This isn’t about pretending obstacles aren’t real. It’s about recognizing that you have access to strength, wisdom, favor, and breakthroughs that go beyond your natural abilities. When you stop relying solely on yourself and invite God into the battle, the equation changes completely.

Questions to Reflect On

  • What wall am I currently facing that feels too high to scale on my own?
  • Have I been trying to overcome this obstacle in my own strength, or have I invited God into the fight?
  • Where have I let someone else’s limitations become my ceiling instead of trusting God’s power?
  • What would one step of faith look like today toward scaling this impossible wall?

Action Steps & Motivation

Identify your wall clearly. Stop avoiding it or pretending it’s not there. Name the specific obstacle that feels insurmountable. Clarity is the first step toward climbing.

Stop trying to scale it alone. Acknowledge that you need help beyond yourself. Pray specifically, “God, I can’t do this without You. Help me scale this wall.” Invite His strength into your strategy.

Take one climbing action today. Don’t wait until you see the top of the wall or have the whole plan figured out. Just take the next grip, the next step. Progress happens one handhold at a time.

Find your support team. God often provides help through people—mentors, friends, coaches, counselors. Don’t isolate. Let others help you climb what you can’t scale alone.

Remember: the wall in front of you isn’t there to stop you—it’s there to show you what’s possible when you partner with God. What looks impossible from the ground becomes conquerable when you start climbing with His help. You’re not meant to do this alone, and you’re capable of more than you think.

Prayer For Guidance and Strength

Lord, the wall in front of me feels too high. I can’t scale it on my own, and I need Your help. Give me the strength to advance against what opposes me and the courage to climb what seems impossible. Show me the next step, the next handhold. Surround me with people who will help me climb. I trust that with You, no wall is too high. Help me keep climbing. Amen.
